About Mrs. Ventura
-I obtained a Bachelors of the Arts Degree in 2006 from the College of the Holy Cross.
-I obtained a Masters in Elementary Education from the University of New Haven in 2007.
-I am married. My husband's name is Matt.
-We have a daughter named Jordan Anne who was born on June 13, 2014.
-We have a bernese mountain dog named Peyton.
My Educational Philosophy
I believe in hands-on, discovery based learning. I believe in student discourse and building a community in the classroom. My classroom is a place where your children will feel safe, comfortable, and successful. I believe in positive reinforcement and working with each individual child to meet his/her needs. Every child is different. Every child learns in different ways. This year, I will get to know your child as a person and as a learner. I will work with your child to help him/her feel successful. I will respect your child and your child will respect me. In my classroom, the students will work together through cooperative learning. They will work independently, with partners, with groups, and at learning centers. If they have a problem, they will use strategies to work it out. I will teach your children how to be independent and responsible. If they ask a question, I will guide them to find the answer. Every student will have a voice in my classroom. In my classroom, your child will participate in many different types of learning activities. Every student will grow. Even if they do not reach proficiency, they WILL feel successful. Every child grows at different speeds and the students will learn how to respect each other and praise each other's growth. It will never be a competition between students - every student WILL succeed! I truly enjoy working with children and I look forward to getting to know your child this year.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Ventura
